- YOGA and WATER
The water outside is also inside. We consume it and so, it comes out. It is gravity dependent and moves beyond our control. We cannot restrict it in the body. Even the muscle contraction needs blood supply at its peak contraction and allows a lot of circulation after few seconds as a recovery mechanism. Immune system too has to pass through all parts and that is how the general mobility assist the fluid directions. With or without the source of sadness in the reality, our tears express the pain. With our without the source of happiness in the present situation, tears express the happiness of a good thought. With and without the object, the saliva expresses our thought of favorite eatable. Sweat is the sign of tension or much body workout. So, water as a medium of food, expression, knowledge and creation. The balanced usage of water is required to have healthy life in and around. According to ancient texts, Yogi has to live near the river not only for physical needs but also for spiritual growth. It is one important steps of yogic life.
WATER collection, preservation, usage in INDIAN TRADITION
Using mud containers like pots can energize the water further and which helps our immune system. Water allows chemical reactions in the bodily solutions like, cytoplasm of every cell, blood, lymph etc. These reactions are based on the PH, acids, bases. Water has the capacity to bring neutrality or equilibrium of all solutions by adopting the PH. Hence the resting metabolism can be achieved easily without hyper or hypo reactions. Bringing the water in pots, preserving, drinking with pots is the other tradition. Mud and water are very natural material can prevent the salt formation, reduces temperature and the same way can mix with body and makes a favorable environment like generating new cells, removal of wastes, stabilize immune reaction. Just the smell of mud can calm down the mind like, Meditation, brings pleasantness like, Content or Bliss. These techniques actually work on the autonomic nervous system activity. Reduces the stress and reduces the stress related disorders (irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, strong emotions, suppressed feelings etc.) Listening to the sound of waves and air from those waves will be the crucial contemplating point which enhances the concentration and cognition ability. Engaging the mind only on the fresh air and its cool sensation without considering the sound is the practice of Pratyahara. So, meditation at the river (Eg; Gnaga) can allow our senses to be at one point. This inculcates the values of water and that leads to transformation in the personality. Drinking water ¼ after half-an-hour of food will allows the balanced digestion in stomach. Sipping water in the middle of eating and yoga practice is also important factor to be remembered. Luke warm water mix with normal salt can be used for cleaning the alimentary canal in Yoga Kriyas (yogic cleansing techniques). Bringing the water from well has much elements and is clean enough to use directly. It is also very good for the skin and hair wash. Such water energizes the body and gives the feeling of weightlessness. Overall, Water is a good material for biorhythm as the function of Pineal gland which works during night. The water can be energized with certain chanting during Sandhyavandanam in front of rising Sun and Sunset. This water can be used as a medicine for some diseases or even for energizing our body.
