Sanskrit is a difficult language and tough for the brain to interpret. This tranquility allows the other words to learn easily. The sound of Sanskrit and its vibrations allow the clearing of strong negative thoughts and hidden subconscious knots. That is the attachment of events, like raga, Dvesha etc., called as Chitta Vrittis of mind according to Patanjali Maharshi. There are shlokas or hymns to be chanted every morning just after getting out of the bed, before any activity, before eating, saluting the Sun, saluting the teacher, and lastly at the bed time. Chanting can sooths the brain without losing awareness of physical commitments. This is the balanced life called Yogic life style. The prayers collected from Vedas and Upanishads are considered to be auspicious and proven to be beneficial for spiritual growth. Fulfillment of physical desires will never make a person understand about the spiritual growth. It’s the bhajans, chantings mantras and shlokas will open up the new way of perception. If the perception change the emotional stability and emotional culturing starts up. These are the events of Manomaya Kosha, the emotional layer of human existence. Chanting Goddess Lakshmi name on “Dipawali” celebrations has an importance with respect to wealth. Preparation and conduction of this devotional activity are explained in simple words here;

Lakshmi Pooja:

  1. Clean the house and the stage for Idol
  2. Set platform
  3. Kalasha: Fill water (Ganga) in the vessel as a purity and witness.
  4. Place the Goddess idol
  5. Ganesh idol
  6. Place books and wealth
  7. Lamp Diya
  8. Decorate with kumkum, turmeric, flowers
  9. Chant Goddess Lakshmi name for 108 times
  10. Bathe the idol with milk, ghee, curd, sugar, fruit (Panchamrutham). Wash with water and give a garland.
  11. Offer fruits, flowers, sweets, cloth, coconut, incense, camphor, arti.
  12. Distribute Prasadam to all nearby people as the selfless service.
